Informational Interview Summary

Interviewer (Student) Bahaa Yassine
Interviewee (Professional) Rami Haddad
Position Production Manager
Company Yassine Ceramic - Lebanon

I am the production manager. I oversee the daily production, manage the team, and make sure orders are completed on time and with good quality.

I always liked working with materials and seeing the final product. I started as a worker, then I studied and moved into management.

I studied industrial engineering at university. I also took some technical courses and training in production and quality control.

There is good demand, especially in manufacturing, construction, and logistics. In the next 5 years, I expect more job openings as companies grow and modernize.

Entry-level is around $600 - $900 per month. With experience, it rises to $1,000 - $1,500. Management positions can earn $1,500+ depending on the company and experience.

Get the right education, build your skills, work on projects, and gain experience. Be confident and show your motivation.

My strongest assets are: Problem solving (X), Teamwork (Y), and Communication (Z). These skills are helpful in teamwork, handling challenges, and working with clients and suppliers.

Workplace Communication Principles

Good Communication at the Workplace

  • Proactive Scheduling Setting reasonable deadlines early in the morning, giving team members ample time to prepare and deliver.
  • Collaborative Inquiries Requesting data politely and explaining the rationale, while offering support in case of technical issues.
  • Polite Confirmation Acknowledging receipt of data immediately, checking correctness, and thanking colleagues for their cooperation.
  • Appreciation & Teamwork Celebrating timely completions and acknowledging that mutual communication is what makes complex project workflows easy.
Clear communication leads to teamwork, trust, and success.

Poor Communication at the Workplace

  • Vague Instructions Demanding immediate deliverables without specifying metrics, constraints, or accurate completion times.
  • Fear of Asking Questions Failing to clarify ambiguous scopes, leading to assumptions, silence, and delayed workflows.
  • Sudden Urgency & Stress Demanding files at a strict deadline when the worker assumed a later timeframe, causing panic.
  • Frustrated Retrospectives Resolving communication breakdowns late and agreeing only after mistakes that one must ask questions early.
Poor communication causes confusion, delays, and mistakes.

My Engineering Services

CAD Drafting & 3D Modeling

Developing parameterized parts, assembly layouts, and detailed engineering drawings in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Fusion 360.

HVAC & Thermal System Design

Evaluating heat loads, cooling parameters, pipeline fluid flows, and preparing layout metrics for building maintenance.

Equipment Maintenance Planning

Drafting preventative maintenance intervals for rotating machinery, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and industrial conveyor belts.
